SNOW WILL BEGIN FALLING IN THE CASCADES AND OLYMPICS TONIGHT...AND THE MOUNTAINS WILL RECEIVE AROUND A FOOT OF NEW SNOW BY THE EVENING OF CHRISTMAS DAY. THE PERIOD OF HEAVIEST SNOWFALL IN THE OLYMPICS WILL OCCUR LATE TONIGHT...AND IN THE CASCADES THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL WILL LIKELY BE CHRISTMAS MORNING. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL BE AROUND 3500 FEET TONIGHT AS A COLD FRONT APPROACHES THE COAST...BUT IT WILL FALL BEHIND THE COLD FRONT ON CHRISTMAS DAY AND DROP TO AROUND 2000 FEET SATURDAY NIGHT.
